OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On August 28, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Liberty County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance at a residence on Old Hines Road in Flemington, Georgia. Upon arrival, deputies encountered 30-year-old Andre Deon Haggray in the backyard of the home. Haggray drew a handgun, prompting a deputy to fire at him. Haggray fled into the woods behind the residence, where deputies pursued and exchanged gunfire with him.

Haggray eventually emerged onto a nearby dirt road, encountered additional deputies, and raised his hand holding the gun. In response, deputies fired at Haggray, striking him. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is conducting an independent investigation into the incident. Upon completion, the case file will be submitted to the Atlantic District Attorney’s Office for review.
