OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Delaware State Police started a chase against the driver of a Kia that did not stop and escalated to very high speeds through a red light until it crashed into a minivan full of children. The driver of the van, mother, Karisma, Stevens, and her 10-year year-old daughter Zamiyah were killed. Another one of Stevens’ children is in very critical condition. Three other children of the same family or hospitalized with injuries. A total of six people from two vehicles are injured and hospitalized in currently unknown condition. The reason given for this dangerous high-speed chase is that the Kia driver refused a traffic stop.
