Around 9 p.m. on 12/12/2022, the sheriff’s office received a call from Sean Michael Hinton, 42, who urged law enforcement without giving a reason to come to his Powell house on the 600 block of Slate Hollow Court, according to the 911 call audio. Dispatchers called back and the wife told them that he was intoxicated and threatening suicide. Hinton is believed to have suffered from PTSD as well. Police found Hinton in full body armor with a rifle. Police shot and killed him. His wife and children had been evacuated prior to the killing.
