Thomas Bean, 36, was killed by police after firing a semi-automatic rifle at responding officers during a domestic disturbance call on Washington Drive. Police say Bean had already shot and killed 29-year-old Jesse Bidgood, who was dating Bean’s sister, prior to their arrival. Seven officers from Fairbanks Police and Alaska State Troopers returned fire after Bean shot at patrol vehicles. Two officers sustained minor shrapnel injuries. All involved officers were placed on administrative leave pending investigation.

Around 8:20 p.m. on May 12, 2025, LAPD officers from the Southwest Division initiated a pursuit of a driver believed to be wanted for DUI. Officers claimed to have called off the chase near Crenshaw Boulevard and Vernon Avenue, but moments later, an LAPD patrol car who had been part of the pursuit struck a red sedan at high speed, critically injuring a 31-year-old woman inside. The woman was later pronounced dead. The patrol car caught fire. Officers escaped. At least four others were injured, including a 12-year-old boy. The pursued driver was not caught. Tadarius Milan Hunt, 29, was wanted for the attempted murder of a Nashville Rescue Mission employee, whom he allegedly shot 11 times on May 11, 2025. On May 11, 2025, Mansfield Police officers identified a vehicle with a stolen license plate entering the city on FM 917. The vehicle, occupied by a driver and a front-seat passenger, fled from officers and entered U.S. 287 southbound. The vehicle continued to evade officers and entered the city of Midlothian. At approximately the 4000 block of West U.S. 287, the vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes before colliding with another vehicle. The driver was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. The front-seat passenger was transported by CareFlite to Methodist Central Hospital in Dallas in critical condition. All occupants of the second vehicle were transported to Methodist Mansfield Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was confirmed stolen from the city of Grand Prairie.

Russell refused to provide identification and continued driving. Officers pursued him through Cushing and into Lincoln County. Villalpando appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was detained without incident. Medical personnel at the scene cleared him for booking. However, upon arrival at the High Desert Detention Center around 5:10 p.m., Villalpando was found unresponsive.

On the night of May 9, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., 44-year-old Willie T. Wills of Moundville was fatally injured during a police pursuit in Bibb County, Alabama. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Wills was attempting to elude an officer from the Brent Police Department when his 2024 Dodge Hornet collided with an SUV on Alabama Highway 5 near mile marker 84, about two miles south of Brent. Wills was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV's driver sustained injuries and was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Two juvenile passengers in the SUV were also injured and taken to local hospitals for treatment. The incident remains under investigation by ALEA.

On May 9, 2025, at approximately 2:46 a.m., Pittsburgh police responded to reports of a man acting erratically and walking in and out of traffic near Saw Mill Run Boulevard and Bausman Street. Upon arrival, officers encountered 29-year-old James Richard Brown Jr., who attempted to enter a police vehicle and refused commands. Officers took him to the ground and placed him in custody, observing injuries to his head and road rash. Emergency Medical Services were called to treat him. While being attended to by paramedics, Brown went into cardiac arrest and was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Prior to the police encounter, Brown had exited his vehicle, leaving it running, and walked away, leading the vehicle to drift into a building. Witnesses reported that he attempted to enter a pickup truck, which drove away, dragging him toward Warrington Avenue. The Allegheny County Police Department is investigating the incident.
