When officers arrived, they encountered a man armed with a rock who threw it at two officers. Officers opened fire, striking the man. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. On October 29, 2025, an Arkansas State Trooper attempted to stop a red Infiniti traveling eastbound on Interstate 30 near mile marker 133. On October 23, 2025, officers with the Temple Police Department encountered a man walking on private property near the 1200 block of West Avenue G. When approached, the man ran toward the railroad tracks. Officers pursued him and reported that he held an object resembling a knife. The man turned toward the officers and said he would kill them. He reportedly advanced toward police, and officers opened fire. The man was later found to have been holding two mechanical pencils, not a knife. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead at 10:40 p.m. The Texas Rangers are conducting the investigation, and both officers were placed on administrative leave with pay.

On 10/23/2025, a man identified as Jose Castro-Rivera was being pursued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on Interstate 264 near the Military Highway interchange in Norfolk. During the encounter, he exited his vehicle and attempted to run across the interstate. He was struck by a Ford pickup truck and died at the scene. The Virginia State Police is conducting the investigation.

On 10/23/2025, 49-year-old Johnathan Taylor of Abbeville was driving a 2007 Honda Accord on Louisiana Highway 14 near Fore Road when police initiated a pursuit. During the chase, Taylor failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, struck several trees, and rolled over. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, dying at the scene. Louisiana State Police Troop I is conducting the investigation.

On 10/23/2025, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers located a stolen vehicle near Wynn Road and Tropicana Avenue. The driver refused to stop, and police escalated a chase through central Las Vegas. On October 22, 2025, around 6:10 p.m., officers from the Cobb County Police Department responded to reports of a hit-and-run and located Timothy Lyle Sheats walking in the roadway. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Sheats told an officer he had been shot, though no visible injuries were observed. The officer asked him to get into his patrol car for safety; Sheats refused and began walking into traffic, at one point attempting to enter a passing vehicle. The officer then deployed a taser. Sheats became unresponsive and was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The GBI is investigating, and once complete the case will be referred to the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office for review.
