Police received a call about a man firing a gun. Police arrived in the man ran into the woods. The Lewiston Police, with aid from the Auburn Police Department, Lisbon Police Department, Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department, and the Maine State Police all arrived and created a standoff. The man was found dead from suicide under police duress. This shooting occurred several months after an unrelated mass shooting that had killed 18 in the same small town.
