OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 08/04/2024, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to a family disturbance at 8425 Quimby St in Paramount. Upon arrival, they encountered a male victim with facial injuries, who reported being punched by his son, 30-year-old Julio Cesar Palomares. The victim led deputies to the rear patio, where Palomares emerged from a bedroom holding a pair of approximately seven-inch scissors. Despite verbal commands to stop, Palomares advanced toward the deputies. A TASER deployment was ineffective, and as Palomares continued to approach, deputies opened fire, striking him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A pair of scissors was recovered at the scene.
