On 10/15/2025, around 9:25 a.m., a Pierce County deputy attempted to stop a driver wanted on a felony warrant near 112th Street South and Ainsworth Avenue South in Parkland. The driver refused to stop, and deputies escalated a chase. The vehicle ran a red light and struck another car in the intersection, killing the woman driving that vehicle. The man fled on foot but was captured nearby. The Washington State Patrol is conducting the investigation.

On 10/15/2025, a brief police pursuit in Lake County ended in a multi-vehicle crash on Route 45 near Wadsworth Road. On 10/15/2025, Portland police responded to a call of a wanted individual barricaded inside a garage on Southeast Sherrett Street. After hours of attempted negotiations, officers deployed irritant gas. The suspect fired at least one shot during the standoff but refused to surrender. Around 7:15 p.m., members of the Special Emergency Reaction Team entered and found the suspect with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No officers discharged their weapons. The suspect was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On 10/15/2025, Eagle Point Police officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute near East Main Street and Royal Avenue in Eagle Point, Oregon. Upon arrival, officers encountered 32-year-old Trae Andrew Blackbear. Police allege that Blackbear brandished a knife and attempted to stab an officer. Officers opened fire, striking him. On 10/14/2025, around 12:30 a.m., South Bend police responded to reports of a stabbing at Karl King Apartments. Officers secured the area but were unable to immediately locate a victim. After obtaining a search warrant, they entered an apartment and encountered an armed individual. The person advanced toward officers, who opened fire and shot them. The individual was transported to a hospital and later died. The Mishawaka Police Department and St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the shooting.

On 10/13/2025, a 17-hour police standoff occurred at a home on Old Mills Road in Pottawatomie County. Deputies said they responded to a welfare check and found a man barricaded inside the home. After tear gas was deployed and officers entered, they found 70-year-old Harold Thompson dead inside. His son and a woman were arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is assisting.
