On December 2, 2025, Stamford police responded to a court-ordered eviction attempt at a home on Oaklawn Avenue after a state marshal arrived to carry out a foreclosure. The homeowner, 63-year-old Jed Parkington, met the marshal and police at the residence and pushed his wife out the front door, telling her to leave because “this isn’t going to end well.” Police soon learned that Parkington was armed and had barricaded himself inside the house.
When officers approached, Parkington opened fire repeatedly from inside the home, striking armored vehicles and exchanging gunfire throughout a lengthy standoff. Negotiators attempted contact by phone, and officers deployed non-lethal tactics including flash bangs and drones. Parkington shot down a police drone and continued firing from inside.
During the siege, tactical teams discovered multiple explosive devices in the home, including pipe bombs and grenades, as well as Nazi paraphernalia. Parkington was reportedly dressed in camouflage with Nazi insignia on his collar. He also wore a utility belt that responders believed might contain explosives.
Later in the standoff, officers heard a single gunshot from inside the home. A drone located Parkington with a fatal head wound. The medical examiner ruled the death a suicide.
After police entered the residence, they located a second body on the upper floor in a decomposed state and handcuffed. The body was identified as 79-year-old Carmine Boccuzzi, a former resident of the house. The medical examiner ruled Boccuzzi’s death a homicide, citing blunt force trauma and signs of gagging. Authorities have not released how long the body had been in the home prior to the discovery.
Investigators reported that the home had been in foreclosure proceedings for months. Parkington allegedly expressed frustration during attempts to negotiate, citing concerns about housing and the pending eviction.
Parkington’s wife, 69-year-old Carmen Parkington, was pushed out of the home before the gunfire and was later hospitalized for depression and cognitive issues. Her attorney reported that she is cooperating with investigators to the best of her ability, and a conservatorship application was filed due to her medical needs. Prior to her health decline, she had been active in local multicultural community organizations.
The Stamford Police Department, Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit, and the Office of the Inspector General continue to investigate both Parkington’s actions and the homicide of Boccuzzi.

The suspect was linked to a separate shooting at a Phil’s Foodway, where a man in his 60s was shot but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Officers followed the vehicle to a QuikTrip gas station near 32nd and L Streets in south Omaha. The suspect entered the men’s restroom, and when police attempted to get him to exit, he opened fire, injuring multiple officers. On 11/29/2025, Kentucky State Police troopers from Post 14 went to a home on KY 1715 in Martha, Kentucky to look for a woman with active arrest warrants for assault. On 11/28/2025 officers responded to a report of a crowd arguing in the 800 block of 45th Street North in the Kingston community. Witnesses told police that a man in the crowd was armed with a gun. An officer encountered the man and during the interaction the officer shot him. The man was taken to UAB Hospital where he died at 12:19 a.m. A handgun was recovered from the scene. The body camera of the officer involved was activated. The state law enforcement agency has taken over the investigation.
