On September 14, 2024, Orange County deputies pursued a vehicle believed to be involved in several robberies. During the chase, deputies deployed stop sticks, which caused the vehicle to lose control and crash. The vehicle caught fire, and despite efforts to extinguish the flames and provide assistance, the driver died at the scene.
