OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
n September 7, 2024, at approximately 4:10 p.m., deputies from the Bradford County Sheriff's Office attempted to perform a traffic stop on 43-year-old Justin Hogg. Hogg accelerated, crashed into one of the patrol vehicles, and fled on foot into a nearby pond. Deputies pursued him and jumped into the pond to pull him back to shore. While awaiting medical assistance, Hogg collapsed. He was transported to a local emergency room, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is conducting an independent investigation into the incident.
