El Paso police were called to Walmart when a stolen vehicle was spotted in the parking lot. They identified a man and a woman and a ledge that the man pulled a handgun. Police shot and killed him.
This was Officer Cassalia’s second shooting in 2024. On May 18, 2024, he had shot Michael Ray Hurst, 40, in mental health crisis.
