NARRATIVE:
On 01/20/2022, a 30-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle crashed during a San Diego Police Department pursuit in the Mid-City area of San Diego. The crash occurred between the North Park and Corridor neighborhoods shortly after police attempted to stop him for speeding.

At approximately 1:44 a.m., San Diego Police Department Mid-City Division officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcyclist in the 3400 block of Orange Avenue after police alleged that he was speeding. The rider continued away and officers pursued him.

The pursuit continued into the area of Lincoln Avenue and University Avenue. In the 3300 block of Lincoln Avenue, the motorcycle struck a curb. The rider then collided with a metal guardrail and was ejected from the motorcycle.
