Darlington County deputies went to the home of Ronnie Dewayne James Sr. on July 22, 2022 after he called them to complain about loud music. Police arrived, were let in by a relative and shot and killed him when they found him in his bed with a pistol. Police were cleared. At least one BWC video exists but was not released.
