Front royal police, and Warren County deputies pulled over Ralph Ennis for speeding. It is unknown why officers attempted to arrest him, but they engaged in a physical fight with the elderly man during which they tackled him and knocked him to the ground. He hit his head severely and died of injuries 13 days later. It is unclear why this violent arrest took place for an offense described as a misdemeanor ticket issue.
