OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Des Moines Police traffic-stopped a 37-year-old man for a vehicle violation. He stopped and police claim he was uncooperative. They fired a taser at him and tried to drag him from the car. This led to a violent altercation. The man finally pulled a gun and began shooting. Police shot and killed him. Two officers were shot and injured. Police did not give an update whose bullets hit them as both officers and the man they had stopped were shooting. The officers were all cleared in October 2024.
