NARRATIVE:
On 02/24/2022, an unidentified 17-year-old male was killed when the pickup truck he was driving collided with another vehicle on Alabama Highway 47 in St. Florian during a police pursuit involving the Florence Police Department and Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement had received a BOLO for a pickup truck reported stolen from Ozark, Alabama. Florence police located a truck matching the description on Helton Drive and began pursuing it.

Florence police pursued the truck until it traveled outside the city limits. Police alleged they discontinued the pursuit. Lauderdale County sheriff’s deputies then began pursuing the truck.
