On 11/16/2024, Sacramento Police officers responded to a trespassing complaint at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex involving a woman believed to be unhoused. Earlier in the day, officers had offered her transportation to a shelter, but she declined assistance. Officers returned the next day and arrested the woman for trespassing. During her arrest, an altercation occurred before she was handcuffed and placed in the backseat of a patrol car. While in police custody, she became unresponsive. Officers transported her to a nearby hospital, where she remained until 11/24/2024, when she was pronounced dead.

On November 16, 2024, Banks County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a white Kia Optima for failing to maintain its lane on Interstate 85 Northbound near mile marker 149. The driver, later identified as 17-year-old Jalah Claitt from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, did not stop. Deputies initiated a pursuit that continued onto GA State Route 59 into Jackson County. Deputies lost sight of the vehicle on U.S. 441 near GA State Route 326 in Commerce.

Authorities allege that hours later, they llocated the vehicle, which had and collided with a guardrail and several trees near the intersection of GA 98 and U.S. 129. Claitt was found ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

On 11/16/2024, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Deputy Jared Mincemeyer conducted a traffic stop near West Hillsborough Avenue and Elliot Drive for an obscured license plate. The male driver initially complied by showing his hands when instructed.
When asked to exit the vehicle, the man allegedly reached for a firearm and exited the vehicle with the weapon in hand. Deputy Mincemeyeropened fire, striking the individual. The man was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Brandon Durham, a 43-year-old father, was shot and killed by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police on November 12, 2024, after calling 911 to report a violent home invasion. Durham was inside his home with his 15-year-old daughter when he made the emergency call around 12:40 a.m. He told dispatchers that two individuals were shooting at and attempting to break into his home. He locked himself in a bathroom to protect his daughter.

Officers, including Alexander Bookman, responded to the scene. Upon arriving, they observed damage to the house and vehicles, as well as loud noises coming from inside. Bookman, the officer who later shot Durham, entered the home and saw Durham and one of the intruders, Alejandra Boudreaux, struggling with a knife. Bookman ordered them to drop the weapon. A second later, he fired his gun, striking both Durham and Boudreaux. Bookman fired several more shots at Durham as he lay on the floor. Durham was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police investigation found no firearms, only knives. Despite Durham's 911 call, the officers treated him as a threat rather than a victim, which led to significant controversy. Durham's daughter, Isabella, publicly expressed her disgust at the police handling of the situation, emphasizing that her father was the victim, not the “suspect”. She criticized how the officers treated him after he was shot.

On November 12, 2024, at approximately 11:14 p.m., deputies from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 56-year-old Anthony Wayne Holcomb of Chattanooga, Tennessee, for a traffic violation on Highway 27, just north of Summerville. Holcomb did not stop. Deputies escalated a chase through Summerville, with speeds exceeding 100 mph. Near the Trade Day area, Holcomb lost control, and his vehicle crashed into a fenced cemetery. Deputies discovered approximately 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine inside the vehicle. A loaded handgun was found under Holcomb's hand in his lap. Holcomb was pronounced dead at the scene. The Georgia State Patrol is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are awaiting reports from the Georgia Medical Examiner’s Office at the state crime lab.

Philadelphia PD were called to domestic disturbance during which a man was heard firing a gun inside of a home. When police arrived, he allegedly tried to carjack a vehicle to leave. Police stated that he had a gun. They shot and killed him.

On 11/11/2024, Boise Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on N. Liberty Street involving Guadalupe Reyes, 47, who was reportedly holding another individual against their will inside a residence while armed with a knife. When officers arrived, Reyes emerged from the home holding the knife. Initial reports state Reyes was cooperative, but officers fired and killed him. On November 8, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers attempted to stop a vehicle in Flora, Mississippi, for an alleged traffic violation. The driver did not stop. Officers escalated a chase that continued into Yazoo City, during which the driver lost control on Jerry Clower Boulevard. The vehicle left the road, traversed a ditch, struck a parked car, and became airborne.

The car then collided with a light pole and overturned multiple times before coming to rest in a yard on Talbert Drive. Emergency responders used the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver, who was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in unknown condition.

The passenger, 20-year-old Mississippi Valley State University junior linebacker Ryan Quinney from Mobile, Alabama, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Police have not explained why they pursued the vehicle at high speed.

Officer Kyle Kapitanski of the Shelburne PD crashed into Sean Hayes on a bicycle, killing him. A surveillance video surfaced in February of 2025 showing that the officer was speeding and came upon Hayes pushing a bicycle with bike trailer directly against the curb on an open road and that the officer should have seen him unless distracted. Lawsuit was filed.

On 11/10/2024, Fort Wayne Police Department officers responded to reports of multiple individuals walking along the 4200 block of Avondale Drive, allegedly armed and threatening to shoot. Upon arrival, officers encountered several individuals, including 16-year-old Ah Mee Kun, who was reportedly holding a firearm.

Officers issued commands for Kun to drop the weapon. Kun allegedly did not comply with the orders. Officers opened fire, striking Kun multiple times.

Kun was pronounced deceased at the scene. The incident is under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Indiana State Police, which is conducting an independent investigation.
