Muscle Shoals officers responded to a mental health welfare check on Ronald Parrish, a 68-year-old man with dementia, who was suffering an episode of paranoia linked to his medical diagnosis. Police arrived and shot and killed him, stating that he had held a knife in his house. His family stated that he was not a threat to anyone and needed mental healthcare. Family have requested to view the body cam which has been denied so far.
