On 09/07/2024, the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office, assisted by SWAT, responded to a domestic violence incident at a residence in the 15600 block of Kadota Place in Victorville, California. Police arrived after a woman reported fleeing her home, alleging that 36-year-old Lavon Green had threatened her life by holding a gun to her head. Officers established a perimeter and initiated negotiations as Green remained barricaded inside the residence.

After hours of failed negotiation attempts, police moved to resolve the standoff, resulting in officers shooting and killing Green. Officials recovered a firearm from the scene. It remains unclear whether Green posed a direct threat to police at the time of the shooting.
