On October 4, 2024, Anaheim Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle on State College Road. The driver of the vehicle failed to pull over and instead drove away. Police escalated a high-speed chase initiated by the police. During the pursuit, the vehicle crashed into a light pole, resulting in the death of 32-year-old Roberto Carlos Venta-Munoz, who was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver was injured but survived the crash. The police pursuit was terminated before the crash occurred, but the chase ultimately led to the fatal crash.
