Baltazar Rangel Juarez, 28, was accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend and her attorney on September 26, 2024. The Napa Police Department attempted to apprehend him on October 4, after spotting his vehicle. Juarez led police on a chase that ended in a standoff at Kennedy Park. During the standoff, Juarez shot himself. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he died from the self-inflicted gunshot wound. Juarez had been charged with double homicide prior to his death.
