On October 16, 2024, Mang Yang, 25, was killed when a fleeing vehicle crashed into her home at Cedar Avenue and Nevada Avenue in Fresno. The crash occurred after a high-speed pursuit initiated by the Fresno County Sheriff's Office’s MAGEC unit. The pursuit had begun when 18-year-old Adam Canales, a known gang member, fled from a stop sign and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crashed into the home, killing Mang and her sister Eliza, who were asleep inside.
