On March 7, 2024, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Pleasanton Police Department officers responded to reports of gunshots at a residence on Saginaw Circle. Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased female victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses identified the suspect as the victim's estranged boyfriend, who had fled the scene in a vehicle. An unmarked police unit located and followed the suspect's vehicle onto westbound Interstate 580. The pursuit concluded near Miramonte Avenue in San Leandro, where the suspect's vehicle collided with the center median and came to a stop. Officers attempted to communicate with the suspect, deploying less-lethal munitions and gas, but received no response. Upon approaching the vehicle, they found the suspect deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed in accordance with confidentiality laws related to domestic violence.
