On 07/25/2024, 47-year-old Brian Barbosa allegedly knocked on doors in the neighborhood, causing a disturbance. The Los Angeles Police Department responded and chased him on foot through several properties. During the pursuit, Barbosa sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound, resulting in his death. He was pronounced dead on the sidewalk of the 1900 block of 147th Street in Gardena, California. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner classified the manner of death as suicide.
