On October 18, 2024, Kentucky State Police responded to a domestic violence call at a home on County Road 1591 in Bardwell, Carlisle County. Upon arrival, officers encountered a man armed with a gun. During the interaction, the man fired at officers, prompting a trooper to return fire, striking the individual. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Upon securing the scene, officers discovered the man's wife dead inside the home. The identity of the individual involved in the Carlisle County shooting has not been released as of now.
