On September 10, 2024, Miami Police officers pursued a man involved in a shooting incident on September 8, where he allegedly fired a firearm multiple times. Officers approached the man outside a convenience store, and initiated a foot pursuit. The chase ended behind an apartment complex, where a confrontation occurred, and three officers fired their weapons. The man, who was armed, was transported to Ryder Trauma Center but was pronounced dead.
