On October 25, 2024, police responded to a domestic violence call in the 2800 block of Elmhurst Circle in Fairfield, California. The caller reported that Brian Dingman had allegedly threatened family members with weapons, prompting them to flee to a neighbor's house. Law enforcement arrived, escalating the situation into a standoff. Police deployed a Lenco BearCat armored vehicle and positioned snipers around the scene. Dingman was later seen in an upstairs window, where he allegedly pointed a gun at the officers. In response, police shot and killed him.
