OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On October 30, 2024, Conyers Police responded to a 911 call from a Chevron gas station where a clerk reported that Jesse Roach had threatened him with a gun. Upon arrival, officers encountered Roach inside the store, but as they attempted to detain him, he fled the scene. Officers deployed tasers, but Roach managed to remove the taser probes and pulled a gun, firing at police officers. Officers returned fire, hitting Roach, who was later pronounced dead at Piedmont Rockdale hospital. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is handling the investigation, and the case will be reviewed by the Rockdale County District Attorney’s Office
