Mark E. Patterson, 45, died in a vehicle crash following a high-speed police chase involving the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office. The incident began after Patterson left a reported domestic issue in Millbrook and fled. Police pursued him to the I-65 Service Road near Real Life Church, where his vehicle went over the edge of a ravine approximately 60-70 feet deep. The crash killed Patterson on impact. A dog in the vehicle survived. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is handling the investigation, but the reason for the chase remains undisclosed.
