OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On November 8, 2024, Southaven police responded to a disturbance call at the North Creek Apartments involving shots fired. As officers arrived on the scene, the individual fled in a vehicle. The chase ensued after the individual struck two police cars while trying to escape. Speeds reached an estimated 70-80 mph during the pursuit, which continued westbound on Stateline Road. The chase ended when the individual collided with a police vehicle, crashing into a wooded area. The person sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
