Police aggressively pursued the vehicle through downtown Orlando, reaching speeds exceeding 60 mph. The police violated pursuit policy during this chase. At the intersection of West Anderson Street and Parramore Avenue, the fleeing Lexus with police in pursuit ran a red light, colliding with a Honda Civic driven by 28-year-old Delmy "Patty" Alvarez. Alvarez was fatally injured in the crash, while the driver of the Lexus also died from the collision.
