A West Virginia state trooper escalated a high-speed chase that ended when a fatal crash occurred during the police pursuit in Summersville, West Virginia, on August 12, 2024. The chase, which began in Raleigh County, ended when the driver lost control of the vehicle after police used spike strips. Two men, R.J. Snodgrass, 42, of Summersville, and Adam Frazier of Pax, were in the car. Snodgrass died at the scene, and Frazier was transported to the hospital, where he later died. The crash remains under investigation by the Summersville Police Department.
