At approximately 2:30 a.m. on November 21, 2024, a police pursuit began after a 2015 Jaguar, driven impaired with lights off and hitting a median, was pursued for several miles at high speed. The vehicle crashed into a tree on Hungry Neck Boulevard, killing three individuals: Scott Tucker (20), Dennis Bernard (20), and Jaden Geathers (19). Tucker, a detention officer, was among the victims.
