Indiana State Police and the Fulton County Sheriff's Department responded to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm. Officers encountered Steven T. Harding, 37, inside a residence. Police claimed Harding was armed and pointing a firearm at them. An officer and a deputy discharged their weapons, striking Harding. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The officers involved are on administrative leave.
