On November 21, 2024, LaSalle County deputies served an Internet Crimes Against Children warrant at a Sheridan residence. As they attempted to arrest the individual, the person retrieved a firearm from the residence and fatally shot themselves. Deputies provided medical aid until paramedics arrived, but the individual succumbed to their injuries. Illinois State Police are investigating.
