OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Randy Allen, 45, was shot and killed on 06/17/2023 in the 400 block of Linden Avenue, Dayton. The incident began with reports of people fighting in the street, which escalated to gunfire. Police arrived as shots were still being fired and found Allen deceased near a car with a bullet hole in the passenger side window.

A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 30-year-old Jacob Ashba in Centerville, who is charged with murder. Earlier, a standoff was initiated at the Davis-Linden Building after reports of another person fleeing the scene, but authorities later determined the individual was not there.
