OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On August 12, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Orlando Police initiated a high-speed pursuit of a white Lexus. The police chase reached speeds exceeding 60 mph through downtown Orlando, violating department pursuit policies. The fleeing vehicle ran a red light at West Anderson Street and Parramore Avenue, colliding with a Honda Civic driven by 28-year-old Delmy "Patty" Alvarez. The driver of the Lexus was fatally injured in the crash and later pronounced dead at the scene. Delmy Alvarez, a mother of two, also died from injuries sustained in the crash. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident. The driver of the Lexus was not publicly identified by police.
