OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On December 12, 2024, the Broward Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an armed man barricaded inside a residence in the 5000 block of Northwest 50th Street, Tamarac, Florida. SWAT officers and crisis negotiators were deployed to the scene at approximately 11 p.m.

After several hours of attempted negotiation, SWAT members breached the residence using specialized equipment and deployed a robot to search the interior. Upon entry, officers discovered 34-year-old Chadwyck Reid deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No other individuals were present inside the residence.The Broward Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into the incident. The Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
