On 12/14/2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers from the Horizon City Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 14000 block of Desert Point Drive in Horizon City, Texas. Police encountered 45-year-old Alfredo Garcia, who had allegedly locked himself into the residence with a gun. Police negotiators arrived, and after several hours, Garcia reportedly fired a shot at officers. Officers opened fire, struck him, and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Texas Rangers are investigating the incident.
