On 12/16/2024, at approximately 12:30 PM, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a man throwing rocks at vehicles in the 800 block of Joni Lane in Redlands, California. Upon arrival, deputies encountered 32-year-old Jefte Vargas Ramirez, who reportedly had rocks. Deputies opened fire, killing Ramirez, who was pronounced dead at the location.
