On June 25, 2021, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Kansas City Police responded to a domestic disturbance near South 50th Street and Vista Street. Officers found Dennis Edward Delgado, 60, who had reportedly attempted to break into a residence.

Before police arrived, a resident of the home shot Delgado. Upon their arrival, officers encountered Delgado, who was reportedly armed. An altercation ensued between Delgado and officers. Police opened fire, shooting and killing Delgado.
