OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at approximately 7:20 a.m., officers with the Lenoir Police Department were dispatched to a possible drug overdose at a home located at 1983 Starcross Road. Officers arrived and found that the woman became agitated and produced two knives. One officer tasered her. Shellabell Tester dropped the knives momentarily before retrieving them and coming toward officers. They shot and killed her.
