On 06/19/2021, during a Juneteenth parade, a Flint Police Department officer was involved in a shooting incident with Briana Sykes, a 19-year-old woman, near the location of 2905 SaginawStreet in Flint. According to police reports, Sykes for undisclosed reasons allegedly fired at the officer. The opened fire, killing her.
