REASON WHY PURSUIT WAS INITIATED:
At 1:41 a.m., Eden Prairie Police responded to a 911 report that multiple vehicles were street racing near Flying Cloud Drive and Crosstown Circle. Police said several vehicles drove away as officers arrived and officers initiated a pursuit of the vehicle driven by 19-year-old Devlyn Voss.

On 09/05/2021, Eden Prairie Police pursued Voss from Eden Prairie into Minnetonka. The pursuit traveled along Highway 62 and onto Baker Road. Police described it as a “short pursuit,” but the publicly released account does not specify the pursuing officer's speed, Voss's speed, the precise duration of the pursuit, or the distance between the police vehicle and Voss's vehicle.

Police said officers lost sight of Voss's vehicle shortly after it passed beneath Interstate 494 on Baker Road. The Minnesota State Patrol led the crash reconstruction investigation with assistance from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office. No Eden Prairie Police officer was criminally charged for an officer's role in initiating or continuing the pursuit.
