On November 17, 2021, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to multiple calls about armed robberies in the vicinity. After receiving reports of a robbery at gunpoint in a parking lot, followed by two more related calls, officers located a vehicle matching the descriptions given. Officer Donald Graham used his vehicle to strike Steven Thomas, and subsequently, both Officer Graham and Officer Amelia Lukac discharged her firearms, killing Thomas.
