On October 28, 2021, deputies from the Santa Fe Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check at a residence on Camino Cielo. Upon arrival, deputies encountered an 85-year-old male who was suicidal and armed with a firearm. After approximately nine minutes, the individual fatally shot himself. The incident is under investigation by the Santa Fe Sheriff's Office.
