OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On December 28, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Fort Worth Police Department officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex near N Normandale Street and Buckskin Run Street in west Fort Worth. Officers found a female in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later died.

When officers arrived, they identified 49-year-old Arthur Vasquez as the shooter and located him on the North Freeway near Westport Parkway. Vasquez did not stop. Officers escalated a chase that stopped near 10001 N Freeway Southbound, where he died by suicide.
