On 12/30/2024, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) escalated a high-speed chase in Dallas, Texas, with aerial support from the Fort Worth Police Department while pursuing a black Jeep Wagoneer reportedly stolen and linked to a prior robbery. The chase reached speeds of approximately 120 miles per hour. A DPS trooper executed a PIT maneuver on Interstate 35E, causing the fleeing vehicle to spin into the wrong lane and collide head-on with a bystander vehicle on the Interstate 35E Service Road.
The bystander, 36-year-old Joel JusinoBergollo, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
