On December 22, 2021, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers responded to a domestic violence call involving a man who allegedly forced a woman into his car. Officers located the vehicle shortly afterward and attempted a traffic stop. The man fled, initiating a police pursuit. During the chase, the man reportedly fired shots at pursuing officers' vehicles. After the chase ended, officers discovered the man deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The woman involved sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene.
