Denver PD chased a man on a motorcycle on February 2, 2023, deliberately struck the motorcycle. A video obtained by the Denver Gazette Wednesday showed the responding officer's patrol car ramming into the motorcyclist, causing him to crash. He then fled on foot. Originally, police claimed that Stephen Poolson Jr., 41, then produced a gun, at which point the responding officer shot him. Poolson died later at the hospital. Police had claimed he crashed on his own and died in the crash and had to correct this to Poolson having been deliberately hit by a patrol car and being shot when he ran. The officer has not been charged.
