On March 6, 2021, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers from the Valley Brook Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle near Southeast 59th Street and Shields Boulevard in Oklahoma City. The driver fled, leading to a pursuit lasting less than a minute. During the chase, the driver’s vehicle collided with two other vehicles, resulting in the death of Derrick Dewayne Alexander. A passenger in one of the other vehicles was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and later died.
